DESCRIPTION:Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was Punta Gorda Isles. The Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association has partnered with the Punta Gorda History Center to bring you this remarkable story about the visionaries who planned and built PGI.  Join us in hearing about the unique history of the Isles as it was transformed from a mangrove swamp into a beautiful and thriving Paradise.  Come and enjoy the food and the fellowship of your friends and neighbors for the kick-off event of our Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Celebration\, an Afternoon English Tea\, on Thursday\, May 28 from 2pm - 4 pm at the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association.  A variety of teas\, teas sandwiches and other delights will be served.  You are also welcome to BYOB and snacks.  Only $5 for the general public and free for PGICA members.  If you join the PGICA that day\, we will apply the $5 towards your membership.\nThere is limited seating.  You must register in advance.  Go to www.pgica.org to reserve your spot now. The event is likely to sell out and we won't be able to accommodate walk-ins.  Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for check-in.
