Charlotte County Jazz Society presents the Midiri Brothers Quintet
Charlotte County Jazz Society presents The Midiri Brothers Quintet on March 13 at 7:00 pm at The Gulf Theater at the Military Heritage Museum. Twins Joe and Paul Midiri are two of the most exciting performers on today’s classic-jazz circuit. From their homebase in Pennsylvania they travel across the U.S. to perform at festivals and jazz parties. Joe is featured on clarinet and Louis Armstrong-like vocals. As a clarinetist, he has been described as a “spiritual descendant of Benny Goodman.” Joe also plays several of the saxophones. Paul is a vibraphonist who is heavily influenced by Lionel Hampton and Red Norvo. While the vibes are his primary instrument, he also plays drums and trombone. There most recent CD, Simply Splendid (Midiri Music) mixes jazz standards and original compositions performed by the sextet.
