Coffee & Conservation Event Series
Coffee & Conservation Series Join us for our monthly Coffee & Conservation series at the Englewood Chamber of Commerce! This free community event brings together local residents, eco-tour providers, and outdoor enthusiasts to learn about vital conservation efforts in our area. Each month, we feature a different topic and expert speaker, with complimentary coffee, iced coffee, and pastries generously provided by The Dearborn Coffeehouse and Bakery (Joe Maxx). Event Purpose: The "Coffee & Conservation" series aims to educate and inspire the community to take action in preserving our beautiful coastal ecosystems. From manatees and seagrass to sharks and native plants, these events provide a unique opportunity to connect with experts and learn how we can all contribute to protecting the wildlife and habitats we love. Upcoming Topics: October: Dr. Beth Brady from Save the Manatee Club November: Bonefish & Tarpon Trust - JoEllen Willson presenting on Juvenile Tarpon Habitat Initiative which includes ongoing juvenile tarpon habitat research and restoration work in Charlotte Harbor and Boca Grande. December: Native Plant Society - Speaker Pending - to discuss the critical role of native plants in conservation efforts. January: University of Florida Sea Grant Program- Armando Ubeada, to discuss the role of sharks in our environment and the importance of conservation. February: Kate Rose from the University of Florida Sea Grant Program. She will discuss the importance of seagrass in coastal ecosystems, current threats, and conservation strategies.
