Freedom Sings on July 4
Choral music returns to Presbyterian Church of Punta Gorda on July 4, 2021, when members of the church choir, joined by members of Bion Cantorum and other community volunteers, will present an Independence Day concert beginning at 3:00 pm.
No tickets are required. A free will offering (suggested $15.00 donation) will be taken at the one-hour event.
Choral conductor for this special celebration of our nation’s birthday will be Dennis Ausman, accompanied by Jane Schroeder. First rehearsals is at 7 pm on Tuesday, June 1. All other rehearsals are at 7 pm on Mondays, June 7, June 21 and June 28. Community singers are welcome till the choir space is at capacity under current health protocols. Free music will be provided.
On the program will be tributes to the armed forces who defend our freedom, popular favorites such as America the Beautiful, God Bless the USA, and our national anthem. All veterans in attendance, whether singing or not, will be recognized for their service.
