Pinwheels for Prevention
Join Us and Plant Pinwheels for Prevention
to Promote Child Abuse Awareness Month
Charlotte Behavioral Health Care is proud to participate in Prevent Child Abuse Florida’s Pinwheels for Prevention® campaign by planting a pinwheel garden and sharing essential resources on healthy child development and community support services for families.
Launched by Prevent Child Abuse America in 2008, the Pinwheels for Prevention® campaign is based on research showing that people respond positively to pinwheels—a symbol of childlike whimsy and lightheartedness that represents a vision for a world where all children grow up happy, healthy, and prepared to succeed in nurturing families and communities.
This free community event invites residents to show their support for Child Abuse Prevention Month by wearing blue and helping to plant pinwheels in the garden, which will remain on display throughout April.
Additionally, throughout April, Charlotte County Healthy Start will host educational displays at the Family Services Center, providing information on healthy child and family development.
The Pinwheels for Prevention campaign is part of a national movement to shift the focus to prevention by prioritizing healthy child development from the start—ensuring that abuse and neglect never begin.
