Girls on the Run Awarded Grant From Selby Foundation

Girls on the Run SWFL Awarded $5,796 Grant from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation

Girls on the Run of Southwest Florida (GOTR SWFL) is proud to announce it has been awarded a $5,796 capital grant from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation to purchase new computers and printers that will strengthen program delivery and operations.

This investment in technology will support GOTR SWFL’s mission to inspire girls to build confidence, kindness, and decision making skills through a research based curriculum and running program. The updated equipment will allow the organization to better manage its expanding program across Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Lee, and Sarasota counties, ensuring smoother communication with families, volunteers, and community partners.

“We are so grateful to the Selby Foundation for this generous grant,” said Kristen Manomat, Executive Director of Girls on the Run SWFL. “The new computers and printers will allow our small but mighty team to serve more girls more efficiently and continue building a future where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential.”

Since 2010 Girls on the Run SWFL has served nearly 9,000 girls with its transformational program, with more than 60 percent of participants receiving some level of financial assistance each season. Updated technology will enable the nonprofit to better track scholarships, coordinate volunteer coaches, and deliver high quality experiences for all participants.

The William G. and Marie Selby Foundation is the legacy of Bill and Marie Selby, two caring people who used their resources to help others access opportunity. Now in its 70th year, the Foundation awards renewable college scholarships to graduating high school students and capital grants to nonprofit organizations in the region. Learn more at SelbyFdn.org.
